Narrator Winifred (Jones) Broadie was born on a Cunningham, Kansas farm, the sixth of seven children, in 1915. Here she presents a portrait of her family, the Jones family, in collaboration with three of her daughters. Her daughters, the Broadie Sisters, have adapted, arranged and recorded the authentic American songs accompanying her story.
The Broadie Sisters, all public school music teachers, hope that teachers may find segments of this CD useful to share with their students. Ultimately,Winifred (Jones) Broadie and her daughters hope that this recording will inspire their listeners to look into their own family histories.
